This 1999 American Silver Eagle is a genuine U.S. Mint 1 oz silver dollar with privately applied color on the obverse: Liberty’s gown and flag in red, white, and blue, the rising sun in gold. The reverse is the original Mercanti heraldic eagle, uncolored. It was struck the year Y2K buying pushed Silver Eagle mintage to the highest level since 1987, then colorized and boxed as a gift piece. Still in a capsule inside the blue presentation box. One troy ounce of fine silver with extra display appeal.
